Calcitriol
Active Vitamin D Hormone ($\text{1,25-(OH)}_2\text{D}_3$)
The biologically most active form of Vitamin D ($\text{1,25-Dihydroxycholecalciferol}$). It is used to treat hypocalcemia and metabolic bone disease associated with $\text{CKD}$ and hypoparathyroidism. Unlike its precursors, it does not require 1-alpha-hydroxylation in the kidney to be active.
