Paracetamol

A widely used over-the-counter medicine for relieving mild to moderate pain and reducing fever. It works centrally, primarily by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes in the central nervous system. Unlike NSAIDs, it has very little anti-inflammatory effect. It is considered safe at therapeutic doses, but high doses can lead to severe and irreversible liver damage, making accurate dosage critical.
