A recombinant form of the first 34 amino acids of human $\text{PTH}$. It is the only approved anabolic (bone-forming) treatment for severe osteoporosis in men and postmenopausal women at high risk of fracture. Intermittent dosing stimulates osteoblast activity, increasing bone density.
